Paintball
Paintball is a team sport involving strategy whereby the
opponents are appropriately equipped to reach the main objective; to
eliminate their opponents by marking them with paint balls.
Due to the nature of the sport questions of safety arise, for example:
Does the shot hurt?
- As long as the requisite distance from the target (your
opponent) is observed, the impact will feel no stronger than a slight
“pinch”.
- The paint balls consist of a gel that explode on impact. A soluble water-based substance which is bio-degradable is released.
What are the risks?
- Statistically paintball is considered a safe sport. The
only potential risk is to the eyes which is avoided by the use of
appropriate and essential masks and goggles.
What is the necessary equipment?
- Protective vest and jacket (to minimize impact). Supplied as part of our equipment.
How do you play?
- Two teams are chosen and initial briefing is given whereby
the aim of the game is set out and safety instruction is given. Once
the teams are fully equipped they retreat to opposite ends of the
field. When the signal is given by the referee the game commences. The
two teams aim to eliminate each other adopting techniques of attack and
defence. The goal is to claim an object symbolising victory which in
most cases is a flag. The main objective of this sport is to exercise
strategy and teamwork.
- The players that have been targeted leave the field and wait for the next game.
- An average game will last for 10-15 minutes. It ends when the opponent's flag has been taken.
- Paintball can be played in various locations as long as boundaries are defined.
- The fields include various objects that can offer protection.
What are the rules of Paintball?
- Mask and goggles must be worn at all times and not removed whilst in the vicinity of the location of the game.
- Never aim a paintball gun at an opponent that is not wearing a protective mask.
- Always follow and check safety measures during every break in combat.
- Always put on your barrel plug during every break in combat.
- Never look directly down the barrel of your gun.
- Never shoot your gun at an opponent less than 5mt away.
- Do not shoot outside the allocated game area.
