Fóia / Figueira Downhill

• Downhills are characteristically more of a sporting event. They can be held either on dirt tracks as shown in the picture above, tarmac/dirt tracks or just tarmac tracks, the latter therefore decreasing the level of difficulty.

• They start at the top of Fóia, at an altitude of 900 m, where the whole of the western Algarve and southwest coast can be seen and travel down the south slope towards the coast among Eucalyptus trees and Mediterranean Oaks, with a stop at the Bravura dam for a timely dip.
